🌍 Climate Zones & Global Warming Exam

Examen de Zonas Climaticas y Calentamiento Global

I. Reading Comprehension

Read the passage and answer the questions:

The Earth has different climate zones, and each one has its own kind of weather, plants, and animals. Near the North and South Poles are the Polar Zones, where it is extremely cold all year. Only a few plants grow, and animals like polar bears and penguins survive the freezing weather.

In the Mountain Climate Zone, the temperature gets colder as you go higher up the mountain. Lower areas may have forests, while the top can be too cold for many plants. Animals such as llamas and snow leopards live there.

Near the Equator is the Tropical Zone, which is warm or hot all year and gets a lot of rain. Many plants and animals live in tropical places like the Caribbean, Central America, and parts of Africa and Asia.

The Temperate Zone has four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. It is not too hot or too cold, and many animals like deer and foxes live there. Trees such as oaks and maples are common.
